Taste Atlas, a popular food guide platform, recently unveiled a list of the Best Traditional Vegan Dishes, featuring Indian cuisine in the limelight. Although the top 10 were dominated by foreign delicacies such as guacamole, hummus, and spaghetti aglio e olio, the 11th spot was secured by the mouth-watering Misal Pav, a popular food combo from Maharashtra, India.

Misal Pav, a spicy curry-like preparation made with moth beans, onions, chivda, etc., paired with Pav bread, has secured the 11th place in the recently released list of the Best Traditional Vegan Dishes by Taste Atlas, a popular food guide platform. Another popular Indian dish, Aloo Gobi, made using potatoes and cauliflower, secured the 20th place, while Rajma and Gobi Manchurian took the 22nd and 24th spots, respectively. Taste Atlas's list of the Best Traditional Vegan Dishes included Masala Vada, which secured the 27th position. The website stated that this popular tea-time snack hails from Tamil Nadu and is prepared using chana dal, onions, ginger, curry leaves, fennel seeds, dried red hot peppers, vegetable oil, and salt. Adding to the joy of Mumbaikars, another popular street food of the city, Bhel puri, has also made it to the top 50 of the Best Traditional Vegan Dishes. This chaat item ranked 37th on the list and is made using a mix of kurmura (puffed rice), onions, tomatoes, potatoes, groundnuts, sev, and sweet and spicy chutneys.
