Red Velvet Cake

Recipe for Red Velvet Cake:

Ingredients:

  • Maida: 1 & 1/4 CUP,  210 GMS
  • Baking Powder: 1 TSP
  • Baking Soda: 1/2 TSP
  • COCO Powder: 1 TBSP
  • Sugar Powder:  1 CUP
  • Salt: 1/4 TSP
  • Milk: 3/4 CUP
  • Oil: 1/2 CUP
  • Vanilla Essence: 1TSP 
  • White Vinegar: 1TSP
  • Red Colour: 1TSP

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • Cream cheese: 150 GMS softened
  • Whipping cream: 300 GMS 
  • Powdered sugar: 2 TBSP 
  • Vanilla extract: 1 tsp 

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 150°C. Line the 7-inch round Cake Mould with butter paper and keep it aside.

For Dry Mixture: 

Sift all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder in a medium bowl. Mix it well (To ensure no lumps) and keep it aside. 

For Liquid Mixture: 

In a large bowl, Take oil, Milk, Sugar Powder, vanilla essence, White Vinegar, and red food color and whisk it well until combined. 

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in 3 batches, and whisk it in the same direction until well combined (To Ensure no lumps).

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake mold and smooth the tops.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the sponge comes out clean.

Allow the sponge to cool for 10 minutes before removing it from the pans and transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting: 

To make the frosting, beat the Whipping cream in a large bowl, Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla essence and mix it well until it doubles in size and stiff peaks form. 

In another bowl whisk the cream cheese until creamy texture. And Now fold the whipping cream and cream cheese mixture gently.

Once the sponge is completely cool, Cut it into two even layers, place the first layer on the turning table, and spray water on the sponge evenly so we can enjoy a nice moist cake. Spread a layer of frosting on top of the first layer of Sponge, then place the second layer of Sponge on top and Spread frosting over the top and sides of the cake. 

Refrigerate it for 30 Mins.
