Chicken biryani is one of the most popular Indian chicken dishes, which is easy to make and non-veg people love to eat. Everyone loves a good biryani. It enhances your festival mood and It can give you a much-needed mood lift up after a tiring day.

Chicken Biryani is a savory chicken and rice dish that includes layers of chicken, rice, and aromatic spices that are steamed together. Here, you will be surprised to see the steps of Chicken biryani and enjoy the best taste and flavor. After trying this, you will understand the efforts taken by the chef who makes such a tasty biryani. Let’s try chicken biryani by following our steps.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

For rice:

  • 300gms basmati rice cooked and cooled
  • 4-5 Cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

To marinate the chicken:

  • 500 gms boneless chicken
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 black cardamom
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 green chilli
  • 1 tsp yellow chilli powder
  • 1 mace
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1cup yoghurt
  • 3 medium onions

To make Biryani:

  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 2 onions (chopped) 
  • Salt as required
  • 2 ginger pieces 
  • chilies chillies 
  • 1 medium tomato...
  • 1 cup water 
  • Chopped Mint leaves
  • Chopped Coriander leaves
  • Fried nuts, raisins, and onions

Recipe-

1) First, we will marinate the chicken thighs in spices, natural yogurt, oil, ginger, garlic, tomato puree (paste) chopped chilies, salt, and lemon juice. Keep aside at least 2 hours for the best flavor.

2) Soak the basmati rice for at least 30 minutes.

3) Add salt, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and bay leafy-soaked basmati rice in hot water. Boil that for 8-10 minutes and keep them aside.

4) Heat the ghee in a pan and Fry the cashews and raisins.

5) Add some more ghee and saute the onions with salt which turn light brown in color.

6) Take green chilies, ginger, garlic and add some water in a mixer jar, and makes a smooth paste.

7) Add this paste to sauteed onions until the raw smell are gone.

8) Add tomato and saute for a minute.

9) Add a marinated chicken and water, mix well

10) Cook for 25 minutes on a low flame

11) Add Chopped coriander and mix well and turn off the flame.

12) Now, Transfer half of the chicken into a biryani pot

13) Add a rice

14) Add a layer of fried cashews, raisins, onions, coriander, and mint leaves (if you have)

15) Repeat the layers.

16) Place the biryani pot or handi over the hot tawa.

17) Sprinkle some ghee on top layer.

18) Cover the lid and cook for 20-25 minutes on low flame.

Note: 

Use basmati or long-grain rice for the best result.

As per the taste, you can adjust the spices to taste.

As per your taste, you can enjoy it with Raita and pickle.
