Soon, a certain section of Lucknow will be transformed into a 24-hour wine and dine street. Lucknow will now have the chance to develop a nightlife.
A 6-acre wide land parcel near CG City has been set aside by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) with 15 plots ranging in size from 1,200 square meters to 2,800 square meters designated for hotels and restaurants with a special status permitting bars to operate around-the-clock.
To guarantee commercial viability for possible investors, the LDA developed the plan in collaboration and consultation with stakeholders, including the excise, police, and Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) agencies.
The total plan, which is only open to investors with a budget of Rs 13.66 crore to Rs 32.4 crore, has the potential to boost LDA’s finances by at least Rs 288 crore and pave the path for similar programs in other regions of Uttar Pradesh.
Official sources claim that the excise agency will let bars, microbreweries, and drinking establishments to operate 24/7.
An official stated, “We will amend the rule books to permit bars within the special zones to operate throughout the day.”
The department has already included provisions for starred properties to run bars throughout the day for in-house guests and the same will be made available to the fine dining street on a premium, in addition to the licence costs, in the future policy that will control excise business in 2023–2024.

Officials added that the street will be developed near Ahimamau crossing, off the Shaheed Path.
