Swiggy Instamart has launched a new “Shopping List” feature aimed at simplifying the quick-commerce experience for Indian users. This industry-first feature, announced by Swiggy Co-founder Phani Kishan, enables users to create their shopping list using various methods—scan, write, or voice input—offering a more intuitive and seamless shopping experience.

The update was inspired by a viral tweet from user @GabbarSingh, highlighting the longstanding Indian tradition of preparing shopping lists for shopkeepers. Acknowledging the power of user feedback, Kishan shared the feature’s launch with the message, “Well, we heard you.” This new addition aims to streamline online grocery shopping, and it has already sparked enthusiasm among consumers.

Swiggy Instamart's “Shopping List” feature allows users to build their cart in three ways: "Say it," "Scan it," and "Write it." With the “Say it” feature, users can simply say their items out loud—such as “Apple, Mango, and Banana”—to create a list. The “Write it” option allows users to type or paste their shopping lists from applications like WhatsApp or Notes. Meanwhile, the “Scan it” function enables users to scan handwritten or printed lists, which the app then organizes into a ready-to-shop cart. Additionally, Siri can be used to build the list with commands like “Hey Siri, create my Swiggy Instamart list.”

Hoping that in the future, it will also read handwritten texts.” Another user praised the swift response, saying, “That was the quickest response I have seen! All moms keeping you in their blessings.”

This latest feature further reflects Swiggy Instamart's commitment to evolving with consumer needs, adding convenience and personalization to the quick-commerce experience in India.
