Noida Liquor Shops Offer Buy-One-Get-One-Free Deals Before New Excise Policy Starts

Liquor shops across Noida are offering massive discounts, including buy-one-get-one-free deals, as they rush to clear stock before Uttar Pradesh’s new excise policy starts on April 1. With foreign liquor selling at half price since last Friday, customers are stocking up, leading to packed stores and bulk purchases.

The state’s liquor licensing system is undergoing a major change this year. Instead of renewing licenses as in the past six years, the Uttar Pradesh government is introducing an e-lottery system to allocate liquor shop licenses. This allows new businesses to enter the market and could change the liquor trade in the state.

Under the new policy, the number of liquor outlets in Noida will reduce from 535 to 501, including:

  • 239 composite liquor shops (selling both beer and Indian Made Foreign Liquor)

  • 234 country liquor shops

  • 27 model shops

  • 1 bhang shop

The introduction of composite shops will bring beer and IMFL under one roof, replacing many standalone liquor stores. This aims to streamline liquor sales across the city.

Currently, Noida’s liquor shops sell about 10,000 beer bottles, 30,000 foreign liquor bottles, and 40,000 country liquor bottles daily, generating Rs 3-4 crore in revenue per day. With the deep discounts, sales are expected to jump by 30-40% before April 1.

The announcement of the New Excise Policy last Friday has further increased demand, with liquor buyers taking advantage of lower prices. Starting April 1, shops allotted through the e-lottery system will begin operations under the new rules.

Stay updated on Noida’s liquor market changes, the impact of the new policy, and upcoming offers.
