Audi Chai Wala: After MBA, MA & B Tech Now Mumbai Man Sells Tea Form Luxury Audi Car

Mannu Sharma and Amit Kashyap found inspiration in an unlikely place - a luxury car. Despite the association of high-end vehicles like Audi with luxury and comfort, the duo decided to use their Audi as a unique setup for their own tea stall. For the past six months, they have been selling tea for Rs 20 from the trunk of their Audi, parked in the upscale neighborhood of Lokhandwala in Andheri, Mumbai.

The concept of selling tea, known as cutting chai, is a common sight in Mumbai, with small stalls called 'tapris' scattered throughout the city. However, Sharma and Kashyap's idea of selling 'OD Tea' (short for on drive tea) from their Audi caught the attention of social media users and went viral.

But it's not just their innovative setup that has drawn customers - it's the taste of their tea that has made them popular. Customers have been praising the amazing flavor and have become regulars at the stall.

Before embarking on their tea venture, Sharma, originally from Haryana, worked as a professional in Africa, while Kashyap, a native of Punjab, now trades in the stock market during the day and sells tea in the evening.

Sharma believes that their tea-selling business in an Audi challenges the perception that only financially disadvantaged individuals take up tea-selling. He points out that both a person riding a bicycle and someone driving a Jaguar can enjoy their tea.

The duo is overwhelmed by the love and support they have received on social media and from their customers. They have future plans to expand their 'OD Tea' business by opening franchises, starting in Mumbai. After practicing and experimenting with different tea recipes at home for a month, they perfected their unique blend and embarked on their tea-selling journey using their luxurious Audi.
