Task Force Raids Kohinoor Dairy Products Unit Near Hyderabad, Lists Multiple Violations
Food safety officials raided Kohinoor Dairy Products near Hyderabad, uncovering multiple violations including unhygienic conditions, lack of records, and missing quality control measures. Statutory samples were taken for further analysis.
A recent inspection by Telangana's Food Safety Department uncovered serious violations at the Kohinoor Dairy Products manufacturing unit in Peerzadiguda, Medchal District, near Hyderabad. The inspection, part of the department’s ongoing efforts to ensure food safety across various sectors, highlighted multiple concerns regarding hygiene, documentation, and safety protocols.
The task force noted that the dairy unit was operating from a shed with an inadequate layout and lacked essential records. Specifically, there were no proper documents regarding milk procurement or sales of dairy products. The absence of a quality control lab and external testing facilities further raised red flags.
Additionally, officials found that the unit had not obtained pest control certification or pollution control permissions, both of which are necessary to ensure a safe and clean production environment. There were also no medical records for the food handlers, and the workers had not received FOSTAC (Food Safety Training and Certification) training, a mandatory requirement in the industry. The unit had also failed to display its FSSAI license in a prominent location, as required by law.

The inspection team was particularly concerned with the overall cleanliness of the facility, describing the premises as "unhygienic." The raw materials storage area was disorganized, with wet walls and conditions suggesting it was used as a dumping ground. The floor was slippery and lacked proper slopes, contributing to unsafe working conditions.
In response to these issues, the task force collected statutory samples from the facility, which have been sent for lab analysis. Further action will be based on the results of these tests and the severity of the violations found.
This raid is part of a broader initiative by the task force, which has been inspecting various food establishments, including restaurants, bakeries, cloud kitchens, and more, to ensure compliance with food safety standards across the state.
