New Delhi, India – In a strategic move to strengthen its presence in the hyperlocal retail sector, AI-driven quick commerce platform KiranaPro has acquired Joper.app, a hyperlocal grocery delivery service. This acquisition will enable KiranaPro to expand its reach, enhance vendor acquisition, optimize hyperlocal marketing, and offer a seamless grocery delivery experience to customers.
Why This Acquisition Matters
The hyperlocal commerce space in India is rapidly evolving, with small kirana stores competing against major quick commerce players. By integrating Joper.app’s strong vendor network and local outreach expertise, KiranaPro aims to empower small retailers with cutting-edge AI solutions and ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) integration.
“This acquisition strengthens our presence in hyperlocal commerce and ensures better tech-enabled solutions for local store owners,” said Deepak Ravindran, Co-Founder and CEO, KiranaPro.
Expanding KiranaPro’s Footprint
With Joper.app already operating in 25 cities, including Ranchi, Kolkata, Thane, Vaishali, Jaipur, Noida, and Mysuru, KiranaPro will integrate these onboarded vendors, stores, and customers into its AI-powered ecosystem. This expansion aligns with the company’s mission of empowering kirana stores with technology-driven solutions to compete with bigger players.
Joper.app’s Growth and Challenges
Founded in 2024 by Sumit Gorai, Joper.app quickly gained traction across eight states, including Rajasthan, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Maharashtra. However, funding limitations made it difficult to scale its technological infrastructure, forcing the company to rely on third-party tech solutions.
“While we could compete on customer service, we couldn’t match the technology of larger players without proper funding. Joining KiranaPro will allow our vendors to leverage AI tools and ONDC integration,” said Sumit Gorai, Founder, Joper.app.
The Growing Quick Commerce Market in India
India’s quick commerce sector is booming, with major players like Amazon and Myntra entering the space. Recently:
-
Amazon began testing its quick commerce service ‘Tez’ in Bengaluru.
-
Myntra launched M-Now for fashion deliveries.
-
Nykaa started piloting 10-minute deliveries in Mumbai.
Industry estimates suggest that India’s quick commerce market will grow by 75% year-on-year by 2025, expanding beyond groceries into new product categories and tier-II cities.
KiranaPro’s Future Vision
Founded in 2024 by Deepak Ravindran and Dipankar Sarkar, KiranaPro enables kirana stores to offer 10-minute deliveries using AI-powered tools and ONDC integration. With the acquisition of Joper.app, the company aims to further optimize operations, improve local vendor engagement, and scale its AI-driven retail solutions.
Though financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, this acquisition marks a major milestone for KiranaPro in its mission to transform India’s hyperlocal commerce landscape.
