It is specifically known for its regional and traditional cuisines, which entail a few mysteries and histories behind it every dish. The majority of Indians enjoy sweets; their passion for sweet foods never ends. India's sweets might be characterized as varied, intriguing, versatile, fascinating, etc. 

There are various kinds of desserts in India, and while we'll do our best to mention them all, certain delicacies transcend geographical boundaries to capture the hearts of all Indians. 1. Gulab Jamun

I find it pretty hard to imagine that, if being an Indian, one has never had the pleasure of tasting gulab jamun. Even if you are a foreigner, there's a good chance you've heard of it as one of India's most well-known desserts. 

Gulab Jamun can be described as fried milk balls soaked in a sweet syrup (rose syrup or honey)

Gulab Jamun, considered to be India's favorite dessert, has its following. You know what’s the fun fact is, Gulab Jamun is not originated in India. To make Gulab Jamun their own, Indian cooks are claimed to have substituted "khoya" for the Persian components, I was surprised to know this.

2. Gajar ka Halwa

It is one of the most nutritious among all the sweet dishes in India. Gajar ka Halwa is an excellent source of vitamins A, K, and C, also it contains various healthy fats and is a rich source of fiber and antioxidants.

It is widely consumed during the winter because scientific is keeps us warm in winters because of ghee which is antioxidant and high in amino acids. It is one of the easiest and most delectable sweets to make in India. Truthfully, this particular dish is just a custard made with carrots, sugar, milk, and a tonne of dry fruits, but the flavor is so exquisite that you almost think it was created in heaven. Khoya or milk is combined with sweetened milk and cooked over low heat to create the distinctive flavor and texture of this dish.

3. Kulfi

Kulfi is a traditional Indian ice cream, it word itself comes from the Persian word quifi which means “cold”. it comes in a wide range of tastes and variations, but the original "Matka Khoya Kulfi" is always at the top of the list! One of the best Indian sweets of all time is kulfi. It is prepared by taking condensed milk and some flavors or ingredients which include saffron, cardamon, rosewater, mango, and pistachios.

4. Rasmalai

This sweet dish is widely famous in India, Ras Malai originated in West Bengal, and it is mostly served cold. Ras Malai is rich, creamy, and sweet on the palate when consumed with a spoonful of ras malai. Its texture of it can be described as light, spongy, and spiced with cardamon and aromatic saffron which is irresistible.

5. Khaja

You will be surprised to know that Khaja is an Odishan dessert made using very simple ingredients like flour, sugar, and ghee. Khaja is listed as very different from other Indian sweets but satisfies one’s sweet tooth.

6. Kheer

An amazing and mind-blowing mixture of milk and rice which is boiled until it becomes thick, then other ingredients such as sugar and nuts or raisins are used to garnish it.

7. Rasgulla

India is a country where people adore sweets, specifically Bengalis( the people who originated in Bengal. The Bengalis address it as ‘Rosogulla’. Rasgulla is used to strengthen our bones and teeth because it is prepared from milk which has high levels of calcium.

8. Barfi

A sweet, fudgy Indian confectionery is a milk-based sweet from India. Technically, it is part of a group of desserts called mithai. Barfi is said to be a moderately sweet taste, a soft and slightly greasy body, and a smooth texture with very fine grains

9. Jalebi

It is the queen of Indian desserts. Jalebi is the national sweet of India and this is the only sweet found on every corner of the streets of India, The taste and aroma of the Jalebis from the stalls or shops are mystical.

The recipe to make jalebi varies a little from the other desserts, a wheat flour batter is deep fried in circular (pretzel) shapes, which are later soaked in sweet syrup (rose syrup or honey syrup). these are probably served as warm but can consumed when cold, it is chewy in texture and consists of a crunchy crust.

It can be paired with ‘Rabri’, which makes it more indulgent.
