Zomato’s Hyperpure Launches Express 4-Hour Delivery Service
Zomato’s B2B supply arm, Hyperpure, has introduced an ‘Express’ delivery service, catering to the growing demand for faster logistics solutions in the hospitality sector.
The new service, available between 8 AM and 4 PM, promises delivery times ranging from 30 minutes to 4 hours. This express option is designed to complement Hyperpure’s existing next-day delivery service, which charges a standard fee of ₹99. However, products ordered through the express service will be priced at a premium compared to the standard delivery option.
Expansion in Quick Delivery Services
Hyperpure’s ‘Express’ delivery reflects Zomato’s strategy to capitalize on the rising popularity of quick commerce in the B2B space. The new service caters primarily to businesses in the HoReCa (hotels, restaurants, and caterers) segment, providing a broad range of products, including fresh groceries, fruits and vegetables, poultry, seafood, gourmet items, and more.
In addition to product supply, Hyperpure also offers a full suite of fourth-party logistics solutions, encompassing procurement, warehousing, and delivery services directly to restaurants.
Zomato’s Growing Investment in Hyperpure
Zomato has been steadily expanding its Hyperpure vertical, positioning it as a major growth area for the company. In 2022, Zomato highlighted that the addressable market for Hyperpure could surpass that of its food delivery segment. Earlier this year, the company revealed plans to establish a plant dedicated to processing value-added food supplies, such as sauces, spreads, and semi-finished perishable goods, to further bolster Hyperpure’s capabilities.
Strong Revenue Growth
The financial performance of Hyperpure underscores its importance to Zomato’s portfolio. In Q2 FY25, Hyperpure’s revenue surged to ₹1,473 crore, doubling from ₹745 crore in the same period last year. Notably, this figure surpassed the revenue of Zomato’s quick commerce vertical, Blinkit, which posted ₹1,156 crore in revenue during the same quarter, up from ₹505 crore in Q2 FY24.
Hyperpure’s remarkable growth highlights its potential to become a cornerstone of Zomato’s business model, alongside its food delivery operations.
Industry Response
The Economic Times was the first to report the launch of Hyperpure’s express delivery service. However, when approached for further comments on the development, Zomato declined to provide additional details.
As Zomato continues to invest heavily in Hyperpure, the introduction of the express service signals the company’s commitment to addressing the evolving needs of its B2B customers while securing its position in the competitive quick commerce space.
