Process for preparation
First, Let's prepare masala for fish curry
Combine yellow mustard seeds, black mustard seeds, turmeric powder, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, garlic cloves, green chillies, salt to taste, black peppercorns, mustard oil, and water in a bowl. Grind the mixture into a smooth paste using a grinder jar, then set it aside for later use.
Now, Let's Marinate the Fish
Take a bowl and add fish to it, followed by salt to taste, turmeric powder, degi red chili powder, and mustard oil. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly, and then set it aside for later use.
Now, Let's Fry the Marinated Fish
Heat mustard oil in a kadai and wait until it is hot. Then, add the marinated fish and fry for 3-4 minutes or until it is 70% cooked. Once done, transfer the fish to a tray and keep it aside for later use.
Process For Fish Curry
Using the same kadai in which the fish was fried, pour the oil and wait until it is hot. Add black mustard seeds and let them splutter well. Next, add tomatoes and coriander leaves, and sauté for a minute. Then, add the prepared paste and cook for a while. Add degi red chili powder, turmeric, and mix well. Pour water, add salt to taste, and green chillies. Let the mixture simmer for a while. Finally, add coriander leaves, tomatoes, and fried fish, and cook for 5-7 minutes on low flame. Once done, transfer the dish to a serving plate and garnish with a coriander sprig.
