Veteran Bollywood actor and BJP leader Paresh Rawal recently made a surprising revelation during an interview, sharing that he drank his own morning urine for 15 days to recover from a serious knee injury.

Paresh Rawal recalled that the incident occurred while filming at a fish market in Mumbai. Following the injury, he was admitted to Nanavati Max Super Specialty Hospital, believing his acting career might be over. However, veteran action director Veeru Devgan, father of actor Ajay Devgn, advised him a unique recovery method — drinking the first urine of the day.

Rawal said he strictly followed Veeru Devgan’s advice, completely abstaining from alcohol, red meat, and smoking during the recovery period. He also explained that he didn’t just gulp the urine down but sipped it slowly “like beer,” committing fully to the process.

"Agar mujhe urine pina hai toh mai udhel nahi dunga. I will sip it like beer. Karna hai toh pure tareeke se karna hai," Paresh Rawal told Lallantop.

After following the method, called "Shivambu therapy," for 15 days, doctors were reportedly astonished by his rapid healing. An X-ray taken after two weeks showed a surprising "cementing" of his knee bones, something doctors could not explain. While Rawal was initially expected to be hospitalized for 2 to 2.5 months, he was discharged in just 1.5 months.

When asked if he had informed his family about the unusual remedy, Paresh replied, “Har baat thodi batayenge (I don't need to tell them everything).”

Following his revelation, social media exploded with reactions, memes, and mixed opinions. Many users referenced Rawal’s iconic character "Baburao Ganpatrao Apte" from Hera Pheri, saying, "Now this will be REAL PHIR HERA PHERI." Others criticized the practice, with some stating it reflects poorly on India’s image globally.

One user tweeted, “I think India will take a lot of time to achieve a 5 trillion dollar economy due to people like (sic).” Another added humorously, “Urine nahi hai re baba, davai hai (This is not urine, this is medicine).”

Despite the backlash and humor, Paresh Rawal’s dedication to unconventional healing has left many astonished, proving that sometimes belief and discipline can lead to surprising results.
