Major Fire at Kharghar's Highway Break Hotel : No Casualties, Electrical Fault Suspected

Navi Mumbai: A major fire broke out at the Highway Break hotel in Kharghar's Sector 10 early Monday morning, around 1:30 am. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the hotel was closed for the day.

The fire, believed to have originated from a short circuit in the hotel's kitchen, quickly spread throughout the premises, engulfing the entire ground-floor establishment. Responding to the emergency, the Kharghar fire brigade arrived promptly with fire engines and battled the blaze for an hour before bringing it under control.

"Thankfully, there were no guests or staff present at the time of the incident," said Pravin Bodake, fire officer at the Kharghar fire station. "However, the fire caused significant damage to the hotel's interior, leaving it completely charred."

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, with initial reports pointing towards a possible electrical malfunction in the kitchen. Bodake further stated, "We are currently conducting a thorough assessment of the damage and will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident."

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of fire safety measures in public establishments.
