Zomato introduces The Shelter Project For Delivery Partners

Zomato, the popular Indian food delivery app, has recently set up rest points for its delivery partners across several Indian cities. These rest points are designed to provide a safe and comfortable space for delivery partners to rest and recharge, as they often have to work long hours and cover significant distances while making deliveries.

The rest points are equipped with basic facilities such as clean drinking water, a seating area, and a washroom. Delivery partners can use these rest points to take a break, have a snack, or use the washroom facilities.

The move has been widely praised on social media, with many people commending Zomato for taking steps to ensure the well-being of its delivery partners. Many people have noted that delivery partners often work long hours under challenging conditions, and providing them with a safe and comfortable space to rest is a much-needed initiative.

Zomato has been known for its innovative and customer-centric approach, and the rest points initiative is another example of the company's commitment to improving the overall food delivery experience. It remains to be seen if other food delivery apps will follow suit, but Zomato's move has set a positive example for the industry.

The Chief Executive Officer of Zomato, Deepinder Goyal, recently announced via a tweet the launch of the "The Shelter Project," an initiative to establish safe and comfortable rest points for their delivery partners across various cities in India. The tweet also featured an image showcasing Zomato and Swiggy's delivery personnel sitting, relaxing, and eating on chairs at one of the rest points. Take a Look

“Announcing 'The Shelter Project' – we've started building public infrastructure (Rest Points) to support the well-being of delivery partners of various companies,” the tweet reads. See now:

We have received interest from local authorities in various cities to help us create more Rest Points around restaurant clusters. We would love to make this bigger – please email shelters@zomato.com in case you work with the public administration and are willing to help.
