Mix Pakoras - a crispy and savory fritter that brings together a delightful blend of gram flour, spices, and chopped vegetables. It is a popular Indian snack, and perfect for satisfying your taste buds and impressing your guests with its irresistible aroma and flavor.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/2 cup rice flour
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped spinach leaves
- 1/4 cup chopped potato
- 1/4 cup chopped cauliflower
- Water (as needed)
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the gram flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the chopped coriander leaves, onion, spinach leaves, potato, and cauliflower to the bowl. Mix everything together.
- Gradually add water to the mixture until you have a thick batter.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadhai on medium-high heat.
- Using a spoon or your hands, drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil. Fry the pakoras until they turn golden brown.
- Remove the pakoras with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve the pakoras hot with chutney or ketchup.
