Easy-to-Make Besan Ladoo Recipe

Besan Ladoos are a popular Indian sweet treat made from gram flour (besan), ghee (clarified butter), and powdered sugar. These delectable round sweets are not only a festive favorite but also a delightful indulgence for any occasion. The nutty aroma of roasted besan combined with the rich flavor of ghee and the sweetness of sugar makes these ladoos a truly irresistible treat. Follow the simple steps below to create these mouthwatering Besan Ladoos that are sure to delight your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Besan (Gram Flour)
  • 1/4 cup Ghee (Clarified Butter)
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 10 Raisins

Instructions:

  1. Place a medium-sized pan over medium heat and add the besan (gram flour) to it.
  2. Dry roast the besan in the pan, stirring continuously for about 10 to 15 minutes. Roast until the besan loses its raw smell and turns slightly golden in color. This step is important to remove the raw taste of the flour.
  3. Once the besan is well roasted, add the ghee to the pan. Mix the ghee and besan thoroughly to ensure they are well combined.
  4. Continue to cook the besan and ghee mixture over medium heat. Stir constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  5. Cook the mixture until you start to see the ghee separating from the besan. This process usually takes around 8 to 10 minutes. The mixture will also emit a pleasant aroma at this point.
  6. Turn off the heat and let the cooked besan mixture cool down for a few minutes.
  7. Once the mixture has cooled slightly, add the powdered sugar and cardamom powder. Mix vigorously to ensure there are no lumps and all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  8. Allow the mixture to cool down completely. It's important for the mixture to reach room temperature before proceeding to the next step.
  9. While the mixture is cooling, you can grease your hands with a little ghee to prevent sticking.
  10. Once the mixture is completely cool, take small portions of it and shape them into smooth and round ladoos (sweet balls) using your greased hands.
  11. Press a raisin onto the top of each ladoo for decoration.
  12. Your Besan Ladoos are now ready to be served or stored. Place them in an airtight container to maintain their freshness.
  13. Enjoy these delicious Besan Ladoos as a delightful treat or share them with friends and family!
