Celebrate any occasion with this easy-to-follow Dahi Bhalla recipe

Dahi Bhalla is a popular North Indian street food and a delicious appetizer.

Here's an easy-to-follow recipe for making Dahi Bhalla at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Urad Dal (skinned black gram)
  • 2 cups Yogurt (dahi)
  • 1 tsp Salt (or as per taste)
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Roasted cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Chaat masala
  • Tamarind chutney
  • Green chutney
  • Oil (for deep frying)

Instructions:

  • Wash and soak the urad dal in water for 3-4 hours.
  • Drain the water and grind the dal to a fine paste using a mixer or blender. Add a little water if needed.
  • Whisk the dal batter for a few minutes until it becomes light and fluffy.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Take a small portion of the batter in your hand and drop it into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the fried bhallas from the oil and let them cool.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the yogurt with salt until it becomes smooth.
  • Soak the fried bhallas in water for a few minutes to make them soft.
  • Squeeze out the water from the bhallas and transfer them to the yogurt mixture.
  • Add red chili powder, roasted cumin powder, and chaat masala to the mixture and mix well.
  • Refrigerate the dahi bhalla for at least 2 hours before serving.

Note: To serve, place the dahi bhalla in a serving plate and pour tamarind chutney and green chutney on top. Sprinkle some chaat masala and roasted cumin powder and serve chilled.

Enjoy your delicious and creamy Dahi Bhalla as a snack or appetizer!
