Michelin Stars for Indian Restaurant: Trèsind Studio and Avatra in Dubai

Exciting news from Dubai's culinary world! Trèsind Studio and Avatara, two Indian restaurants, have earned prestigious Michelin stars. Get ready to embark on a flavor-packed journey through Indian gastronomy in the heart of Dubai.

Avatara, an Indian vegetarian restaurant, recently acquired its first Michelin Star.

The Michelin Guide 2023 for Dubai is now available, and two Indian restaurants are among the highlights. Himanshu Saini’s Indian restaurant Trèsind Studio has been awarded two Michelin stars; it got its first star in the inaugural edition of the Michelin Guide Dubai last year. This year, Avatara, a vegetarian Indian fine-dining restaurant, received its first Michelin star.

Trèsind Studio, located in Nakheel Mall on Palm Jumeirah, serves sophisticated Indian cuisine with a rotating menu. “Its cuisine has continued to evolve in such an impressive way; its dishes are highly original, precise, and at times intriguing, and make dining here a truly unforgettable experience,” according to the Michelin Guide. The two other Dubai restaurants that received two Michelin stars in 2022—Il Ristorante – Niko Romito and STAY by Yannick Alléno—maintained their status this year.

Avatara’s modern degustation menu features dishes such ghee roast karela with mango sambhar gelato and dosai crisp, passionfruit, guava, and strawberry bhel, and turnip steak with berry pulao and chilli curry. Rahul Rana, who was reared in Rishikesh, is the executive chef at Avatara, while Saini is the corporate chef. Omkar Walve of Avatara was also named a Michelin Guide Young Chef. This year, two more restaurants, Moonrise and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, each won one Michelin star. Aamara, an Indian restaurant that serves a combination of Arabic and Indian cuisines found along the Silk Route, is one of this year’s Bib Gourmands.
