Toffee Coffee Roasters Raises ₹5 Crore in Pre-Series A Round Led by IPV

Direct-to-consumer coffee brand Toffee Coffee Roasters (TCR) has raised ₹5 crore in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV). The capital infusion will support the company’s fast-growing operations, backend expansion, and new product development as it prepares for its next phase of scale.

Funding Details and Investor Participation

The funding round also saw participation from 66 bridge partners, along with Abhijit Vemuganti and Invesst. This round marks a key milestone for the specialty coffee startup as it strengthens its position in India’s competitive coffee market.

Toffee Coffee Roasters previously gained national visibility after appearing on Shark Tank India and also counts Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and CEO of OYO Rooms, among its notable backers.

How Toffee Coffee Roasters Plans to Use the Funds

According to the company, nearly 60% of the fresh capital will be deployed as working capital to support its rapidly expanding operations.

Key Allocation Breakdown

  • 10–15% for enhancing and expanding backend roastery infrastructure

  • Around 10% to improve packaging quality and presentation

  • 10–15% earmarked for new product development, including portfolio expansion

This balanced approach reflects the company’s focus on both operational efficiency and product innovation.

Strong Brand Presence and Market Traction

Toffee Coffee Roasters has emerged as one of the top five coffee websites in India based on online traction and currently holds an estimated 1–2% share of the overall coffee category.

The brand focuses on sourcing, roasting, and blending premium coffees, while maintaining a lean supply chain that eliminates middlemen. This enables better quality control and competitive pricing for consumers.

All coffee blends are created in-house by a team that includes India’s top Q Graders and experienced master blenders, ensuring consistency and quality across sub-categories.

Experienced Team Driving Growth

The company is led by co-founders Rishabh Nigam and Nandini Shrivastava, who bring complementary expertise to the business.

  • Rishabh Nigam, Co-founder, has over six years of experience in growth roles at consumer internet companies such as ZEE5, Pocket FM, and upGrad, and played a key role in scaling Pocket FM’s US revenues from zero to USD 15 million within a year.

  • Nandini Shrivastava, Co-founder, previously worked with JSW and now leads product and operations, overseeing alliances, innovation, and process improvements across the portfolio.

The broader team includes professionals from IIT backgrounds and experience at brands like Zomato and Starbucks, strengthening the company’s execution capabilities.

Scaling Production and Revenue Ambitions

Currently, Toffee Coffee Roasters produces over 5 tonnes of coffee every month, with more than 40,000 units consumed monthly. This translates to approximately 3–4 lakh cups of coffee brewed at home across India.

The company now plans to scale production to 50 tonnes per month, a move expected to support ₹8–10 crore in annualised revenue. At this scale, TCR aims to reach 8–10 lakh customers who choose the brand as their daily coffee.

With fresh funding, strong leadership, and growing consumer demand for specialty coffee, Toffee Coffee Roasters is well-positioned to deepen its footprint in India’s evolving coffee market. The company’s focus on quality, in-house innovation, and efficient operations is expected to drive sustainable growth in the coming years.
