Cumin Co Raises $5 Mn in Pre-Series A Round Led by Fireside Ventures

Gurugram-based D2C kitchenware startup Cumin Co has raised $5 million (approximately ₹41.5 crore) in a Pre-Series A funding round to accelerate product development and distribution expansion. The round was led by Fireside Ventures, with participation from both institutional and angel investors.

Funding and Investor Participation

Along with Fireside Ventures, the funding round saw participation from Huddle Ventures and Alteria Capital.

Angel investors participating in the round include Atrium Angels, Mokobara cofounders Sangeet Agrawal and Navin Parwal, and Tracxn cofounder Abhishek Goyal.

This marks the company’s second institutional fundraise, following a $2 million seed round raised in August 2025.

Capital Deployment Strategy

According to the company, the newly raised capital will be deployed across four key areas:

  • Expansion of research and development capabilities
  • Product portfolio enhancement
  • Distribution channel expansion
  • Talent acquisition and organisational scale-up

Cofounder Niharika Joshi stated that the company is prioritising long-term capability building over short-term growth levers.

Company Background and Product Focus

Founded in 2024 by Niharika Joshi and Udit Lekhi, Cumin Co designs and manufactures kitchenware products including cookware, bakeware, and kitchen tools. The company currently offers more than 100 SKUs and commenced commercial operations in February 2025 after a pilot phase involving customer testing and feedback.

A central element of the company’s strategy is its proprietary coating technology. According to the founders, Cumin Co holds three patents related to coating processes aimed at enabling toxin-free and durable cookware.

Distribution and Market Expansion Plans

Cumin Co currently sells through its own direct-to-consumer website and ecommerce platforms such as Amazon.

As part of its next phase of growth, the startup plans to enter quick commerce platforms and expand its presence across additional online marketplaces to improve delivery speed and customer reach.

Early Financial Performance

The startup claims to have achieved a tenfold increase in revenue within eight months of launch, supported by demand from urban, digital-first consumers. While the company did not disclose revenue numbers, it indicated that repeat purchases and category expansion have contributed to early traction.

Industry Context

India’s kitchenware segment is witnessing increased activity, driven by premiumisation, health-conscious consumers, and the rise of digitally native brands. The domestic kitchenware market is projected to surpass $10.8 billion by 2033, making it an increasingly attractive segment for consumer-focused venture capital firms.

Several D2C brands in adjacent categories have raised capital over the past year, reflecting sustained investor interest in home and lifestyle products.

With fresh capital, a technology-led product strategy, and plans to broaden its distribution footprint, Cumin Co is positioning itself for scale in a competitive kitchenware market. Execution across R&D, supply chain, and omnichannel distribution will be critical as the company moves into its next growth phase.
