Shobhaa De Reveals Shilpa Shetty’s Bastian Makes ₹2–3 Crore Per Night
Author Shobhaa De claims Shilpa Shetty’s luxury restaurant Bastian At The Top in Mumbai earns ₹2–3 crore a night, drawing elite crowds and lavish diners.
Mumbai’s luxury dining scene is making headlines after author and columnist Shobhaa De claimed that Shilpa Shetty’s upscale restaurant, Bastian At The Top, earns between ₹2–3 crore every night.
De made the revelation during her appearance on Inside Out With Barkha Dutt, where she discussed the rise of Mumbai’s nightlife and elite dining culture. “There is one single restaurant in Mumbai which has a turnover of ₹2–3 crore a night. On slow nights, ₹2 crore, and on weekends, ₹3 crore or more,” she said, adding that she personally visited the venue to witness it herself.
When asked which restaurant she was referring to, De confirmed, “It’s Bastian. It’s the new ‘Bastian At The Top.’ It’s 21,000 square feet—you walk in there and feel, ‘Where am I?’ You have a 360-degree view of the city.”
Located on the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square in Dadar, Bastian At The Top opened in 2023 and is one of Mumbai’s most exclusive fine-dining destinations. The restaurant offers panoramic city views, a rooftop pool, and lavish interiors, making it a hotspot for celebrities, business elites, and luxury enthusiasts.
De described her experience at the venue as surreal, saying it felt “like a world far removed from everyday reality.”
1,400 Guests A Night, Luxury Cars, and Big Spenders
According to De, the restaurant operates two dinner seatings every night, catering to around 1,400 guests in total. “People arrive in Lamborghinis and Aston Martins. There’s even a waiting list outside the building,” she said.
She added that many tables spend lakhs of rupees on high-end food and drinks, including premium tequila bottles. “I didn’t recognise a single person in that crowd. They were young, energetic, and spending freely,” she observed.
The claims shed light on Mumbai’s booming luxury nightlife and the growing appetite for extravagant dining experiences.
Shilpa Shetty’s Expanding Restaurant Empire
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty entered the restaurant business in 2019 when she partnered with restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, founder of the Bastian brand. Shetty now reportedly owns a 50% stake in the company.
Recently, she inaugurated a new Bastian outlet in Goa with a traditional puja ceremony. Meanwhile, her Bandra outlet will soon be transformed into a South Indian restaurant called “Ammakai”, also under her ownership. Another project, Bastian Beach Club, is expected to open soon in Juhu.
Luxury Dining Takes Over Mumbai
Bastian’s reported nightly earnings highlight the massive growth of premium dining and nightlife culture in Mumbai. With restaurants like Bastian leading the trend, the city continues to evolve into a global hub for fine dining, entertainment, and high-end experiences.
While the revenue figures shared by Shobhaa De remain unverified, the claim underscores the extraordinary success of Shilpa Shetty’s luxury restaurant brand. From Mumbai to Goa, the actress-entrepreneur is quickly building one of India’s most recognized fine-dining empires.
