Allu Arjun, arrested over the Sandhya Theatre stampede in Telangana, spent a night at Chanchalguda Central Prison as a special class prisoner. Released on interim bail, he thanked fans for their support and expressed condolences to the victim’s family.
Popular actor Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday in connection with the stampede at Sandhya Theatre, which tragically claimed the life of a woman. Following his arrest, the "Pushpa 2" star was taken to Chanchalguda Central Prison in Telangana, where he spent the night before being released on interim bail the next morning.
A senior Telangana prisons department official revealed details of the actor's time in jail. "He was quite normal and did not appear depressed. He was served rice and vegetable curry for dinner and did not request any special favours," the official stated. Dinner is usually served at 5:30 pm, but late admissions, such as the actor's, are also accommodated.
As a special class prisoner, Allu Arjun was entitled to a cot, a table, and a chair for added comfort, as per court orders. He was housed in a separate section of the prison alongside other individuals accused in the stampede case.
The actor was admitted to the jail at 6:30 pm on Friday and released at 6:20 am the following morning after securing interim bail. Speaking to the media post-release, Allu Arjun expressed gratitude and remorse. "I thank everyone for their love and support. I also extend my condolences to the victim's family. It was an unfortunate incident, and we are truly sorry for what happened. I am a law-abiding citizen and will fully cooperate with the investigation," he said.
