Zomato Rest Area: South India's First Rest Stop for Delivery Partners

Zomato has opened its first restaurant in South India in Bengaluru’s Vega City Mall. The resting place is intended to give Zomato delivery partners a cozy and secure area to relax and refuel in between deliveries. The area has cozy seats, charging stations, and free Wi-Fi. Additionally, there is a vending machine with food and drinks.

The resting stop was officially opened by Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, who praised Zomato for their welcoming gesture and remarked that it will greatly benefit the delivery partners. Set established South India’s first resting point for delivery partners at Vega City Mall in collaboration with Zomato and Vega city social, said Surya on Twitter. All delivery partners will be able to relax, reenergize, and recharge at the point because it is equipped with necessities like first aid, drinking water, and clean facilities.

In addition, Zomato stated that delivery partners from other companies may also utilize the resting areas.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal stated in a blog post from February of this year, “Announcing ‘The Shelter Project’ – we’ve started building public infrastructure (Rest Points) to support the well-being of delivery partners of various companies.”

Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato, had previously stated that the resting place was a part of the company’s dedication to the welfare of its delivery partners. He said that the resting spot is only one of several initiatives the business has taken to enhance the working environment for its partners.

As previously reported by Zomato, the rest stops offer a variety of amenities like high-speed internet, first aid, phone charging stations, washrooms, and drinking water. They are also accessible to delivery agents from other companies. All Bengaluru-based Zomato delivery partners are welcome at the resting place. From 10 am to 10 pm, it Is open. More rest areas will be established by Zomato in other South Indian towns.
