Zomato Introduces 'Order Scheduling' Feature in Selected Cities. Check Now
Zomato introduces 'Order Scheduling,' allowing users to pre-order meals up to two days in advance in select cities. Discover how this new feature can make meal planning easier and more convenient.
Zomato, the popular food delivery app, has rolled out a new feature allowing customers to schedule orders up to two days in advance. Announced by CEO and founder Deepinder Goyal on Saturday, August 24, via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the feature—dubbed 'Order Scheduling'—is currently available at around 13,000 outlets across Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow, and Jaipur.
Initially, this service is restricted to orders above ₹1,000. Goyal explained that these cities were selected because the restaurants involved have consistently maintained high stock levels and reliable kitchen preparation times. He also mentioned that the feature would eventually expand to other cities and include more restaurants, with the order value requirement being removed over time.

The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from users on social media, with many praising the new feature. One user expressed, "Always wanted this feature. Great job." Another commented, "This was a critical feature missing in an otherwise great app," while a third noted, "On days when the cook is on leave, I can now schedule my lunch before leaving home—something I often forget to do amidst office meetings."
This new development comes just hours after Zomato decided to discontinue its intercity food delivery service, 'Zomato Legends.' The now-defunct service allowed customers to order food from renowned eateries across the country, not just local restaurants. Announcing the decision, Goyal stated, "After two years of trying and not finding product-market fit, we have decided to shut down Zomato Legends with immediate effect."
