Zomato Employee Accuses Company of Unethical Terminations in Viral LinkedIn Post
Zomato faces controversy after employee Shashank Shukla alleged unethical staff removals without notice or due process in a viral LinkedIn post. He claimed the company ignored personal and family circumstances before firing employees.
Zomato has come under scrutiny after an employee alleged that the company is engaging in unethical staff removals without notice or due process. The claims were made by Shashank Shukla, who joined the food delivery giant in February 2025, through a viral LinkedIn post that has sparked widespread debate online.
In his LinkedIn post, Shukla accused Zomato of firing employees without their consent, disregarding personal or family circumstances. “This is to bring into your notice that Zomato is ongoing with unethical behaviour against employees of the organisation. I am a part of the organisation and would like to confirm that unethical removals of employees are going on here without even consent of employees,” Shukla wrote.
He further alleged that Zomato showed no concern for employees’ family situations before termination. “No matter what the situation is within your family, no one will understand and they will take action against you. They will fire you out and there is no action taken against upper management regarding their unethical behaviour,” his post stated.
Shukla also mentioned that he had first raised the issue internally via email but, after receiving no response, decided to go public on LinkedIn.
The allegations have triggered discussions around Zomato’s employee policies, ethical work culture, and layoff practices. However, as of now, Zomato has not issued an official statement regarding the claims.
