The highly anticipated second edition of World Food India 2023 is slated to take place from November 3 to November 5, 2023, at the iconic Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The prestigious event is set to be inaugurated by India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Organized as an initiative by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, this year's edition of World Food India aims to celebrate 2023 as the International Year of Millets and foster global collaboration within the food processing industry.
The event's official website underscores the primary objective of uniting diverse stakeholders within the food sector to deliberate, collaborate, and exhibit India's immense potential in this domain. World Food India 2023 is poised to be a comprehensive forum featuring a diverse array of exhibitions, conferences, knowledge sessions, special country and state sessions, Industry Roundtables with policymakers, and award ceremonies.
Among the event's highlights are opportunities for showcasing, product-wise pavilions, specialized zones dedicated to Millets, Organic Food, Niche technologies, and digital showcases. Furthermore, attendees can anticipate a unique culinary experience with a curated "Food Street" led by the renowned chef Ranveer Brar.
A remarkable and ambitious endeavor at the forum will be the attempt to set a Guinness World Record. As reported by DD News, a team of 60 to 80 chefs will collaborate to create the world's longest millet dosa, with the ultimate goal of securing a Guinness record. The endeavor will involve crafting a 100-foot-long dosa.
During a recent press briefing on October 18, 2023, Union Minister of State Prahlad Singh Patel disclosed vital information about the event. The Netherlands will assume the role of the 'Partner Country,' while Japan and Vietnam have been designated as the 'Focus Countries' for World Food India 2023. Patel further highlighted that the event will witness the participation of over 1,000 buyers and 950 exhibitors hailing from a total of 81 countries, making this a truly global and influential gathering in the world of food processing.
