Swiggy Launches B2B Supply Chain Platform ‘Assure’ to Compete with Zomato’s Hyperpure

Food delivery giant Swiggy has forayed deeper into the B2B segment with the official launch of its new platform, ‘Assure’. The service is designed to cater to hotels, restaurants, and catering businesses (HORECA) by offering direct access to locally-sourced fresh ingredients and kitchen essentials.

To facilitate seamless operations, Swiggy has rolled out a dedicated app for the platform — named ‘Assure’ on the Google Play Store and ‘Resto Assure’ on the Apple App Store. According to its app listing, Assure enables businesses to conveniently source a wide range of supplies, including fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, pulses, flour, oil, ghee, rice, as well as canned and imported goods.

Assure marks Swiggy’s latest move to take on its competitor Zomato’s B2B arm, Hyperpure, which already services thousands of restaurant partners across India.

The delivery and logistics operations for Assure are being managed by Scootsy Logistics Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swiggy. Scootsy is responsible for displaying products on the platform and fulfilling deliveries to business customers.

The platform’s terms of service also highlight that Scootsy retains the right to revise product pricing without prior notice to its merchant partners.

While the Assure app was quietly launched in September last year, its official push suggests that Swiggy is now ready to scale up its presence in the B2B food supply space.
