Pune Man Finds Knife piece in Domino’s Pizza, Outlet Apologizes Amid Safety Concerns
A shocking incident unfolded for Arun Kapse, a Pimpri-Chinchwad resident, who discovered a piece of a knife cutter in the pizza he ordered from a Domino’s outlet on Jai Ganesh Empire, Spine Road. The outlet manager has since apologized, but Kapse plans to file an official complaint with the FDA.
A routine pizza order turned alarming for Arun Kapse of Pune when he encountered a sharp fragment of a knife cutter in his pizza. Kapse, who had paid ₹596 for the order on Friday from Domino’s Pizza on Jai Ganesh Empire, Spine Road, was startled when a sharp object pricked him mid-meal. Upon inspection, it turned out to be a piece of a knife cutter lodged in the pizza.
“I could have been seriously injured. It was a deeply distressing experience,” Kapse said, recounting the ordeal.
Upon discovering the hazard, Kapse contacted the Domino’s outlet manager, who initially dismissed his claims. However, after Kapse sent photographic evidence, the manager visited his residence. During the visit, the manager acknowledged the negligence, apologized, and reportedly offered not to charge for the pizza in an attempt to prevent the matter from going public.
“Such negligence is unacceptable. This isn’t just a mistake—it’s a safety hazard. I urge people to think twice before ordering from this outlet,” said Kapse, who is determined to ensure accountability. He plans to lodge a formal complaint with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Monday to address the issue.
The manager reportedly admitted that the knife fragment was part of a cutter used in the kitchen. Domino’s has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
Kapse’s experience has raised serious concerns about food safety and hygiene standards at the outlet.
