Large Quantity of Adulterated Ghee and Paneer Seized in Hyderabad Raids

In a major crackdown on unsafe and adulterated food products, the Cyberabad police along with food safety officials conducted surprise raids on several food manufacturing units across Hyderabad on Wednesday, July 2.

During the raids, police discovered large-scale violations of food safety rules. Many units were operating without the mandatory FSSAI license and trade licenses. Some were found using expired raw materials and banned synthetic food colors. Food was also being prepared in extremely unhygienic conditions. Shockingly, child labour was also found at some of these places.

In LB Nagar, police seized 575 litres of adulterated ghee, while in Maheshwaram, officials seized 3,946 kg of adulterated ginger garlic paste. Another 3,037 kg of the same product was recovered from Malkajgiri. In Bhongir, 250 kg of adulterated paneer was also confiscated.

Apart from these, police also seized adulterated milk, turmeric powder, coriander powder, biscuits, sweets, bakery items, mineral water and even ice creams produced at these unauthorized units.

A total of 46 cases have been registered and 52 people were arrested. The police are now working to trace the complete distribution network behind these adulterated products.

The police have requested citizens to always check the manufacturing and expiry dates before buying any food products. They also urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious food manufacturing activity. People can send complaints or share information via WhatsApp on 8712662666.
