Swiggy Unveils 'Rs 99 Store' with Free Delivery to Win Over Gen-Z and Budget Diners

Swiggy, one of India’s leading food delivery platforms, has introduced a brand-new feature on its app — the ‘Rs 99 Store’. This offering promises single-serve dishes priced at a flat Rs 99, with the added benefit of free delivery when customers opt for Swiggy’s Eco Saver mode.

The new category went live on July 1 and is now available in over 175 cities, including major metros like Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata. Designed to appeal especially to Gen-Z consumers, students and daily wage earners, the Rs 99 Store focuses on high-frequency, price-sensitive diners who crave affordable options without compromising on taste.

What’s on the Menu?

Swiggy has partnered with a wide range of local restaurants to bring quick-prep meals under this store. The line-up includes popular comfort foods such as:

  • Biryani

  • Burgers

  • Rolls

  • Noodles

  • Cakes

  • Regional specialities

All meals cost exactly Rs 99 and come with zero delivery charges when ordered through the Eco Saver mode, which optimises delivery routes to cut costs and emissions.

Designed for Everyday Meals

The Rs 99 Store features a “dish-forward design” — showcasing top-selling and trending dishes upfront to help users quickly pick what they want. Swiggy hopes this user-friendly approach will make the store an everyday option for lunch and dinner, especially among those who may skip ordering due to high delivery charges.

“At Rs 99, this isn’t just a price point — it’s a promise,” said Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s food marketplace. “We’ve collaborated closely with restaurant partners and our delivery network to keep meals affordable without cutting corners on quality.”

Why This Matters for Swiggy

With India’s food delivery market experiencing slower growth and facing fresh competition — including Rapido’s planned entry — Swiggy’s Rs 99 Store is a strategic move to boost order volumes and retain users.

By targeting customers who usually place small orders or hesitate due to extra delivery fees, Swiggy hopes to:

  • Increase daily order frequency

  • Attract price-conscious younger users

  • Make better use of delivery staff during non-peak hours

  • Offer restaurants an extra sales channel to push high-margin items
