Food delivery app Swiggy has launched a new feature called DeskEats, made especially for office workers who want quick and easy meals during their busy workday. This new feature is now available in over 7,000 tech parks, business centres, and office hubs across 30 Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurugram, Chennai, Pune, and Kolkata.

What Is DeskEats?

DeskEats offers a special collection of meals that are easy to eat at your desk. These meals are designed for people who don’t have much time or space at work to eat properly. The food comes in smart packaging, so you don’t need extra plates or cutlery.

To use the feature, users can open the Swiggy app and search for “Office” or “Work” to see the DeskEats menu. The menu includes:

  • Value Combos – full meals at budget prices

  • Stress Munchies – snacks to enjoy during a quick break

  • Deadline Desserts – sweet treats to boost your mood

  • Healthy Nibbles – light and healthy options like salads

  • One-handed Grabbies – easy-to-hold and eat food items

  • Teamwork Bites – food options for group orders

What People Are Ordering

Swiggy noticed some interesting trends during the DeskEats testing phase:

Bengaluru: Chicken popcorn is the top snack

Mumbai: People love fries the most

Gurugram: Garlic bread sticks are a favourite

Healthy Nibbles: Salads are popular in all cities

Mumbai: Placed the most number of DeskEats orders

One-handed Grabbies: These made up 30% of all DeskEats orders, showing that office workers prefer quick and mess-free meals

Why It’s Helpful

According to Deepak Maloo, Swiggy’s Vice President for Food Strategy and Customer Experience, DeskEats was made to solve a common problem at offices.

“People can find food easily, but it's hard to get something that is easy to eat at your desk without making a mess. DeskEats solves that by offering smartly packed meals that you can enjoy while working,” he said.
