Bengaluru-based Misfits, India’s pioneering prebiotic soda brand, has successfully closed its seed funding round, attracting investment from a consortium of prominent backers. The round was led by Nu Ventures, along with angel investor Subba Rao Telidevara, Bijoy Daga of Turiya Advisory Services, and corporate finance consultant Robert Pancras. The funding amount remains undisclosed.

Founded by brothers Aditya and Yash Pai, Misfits has carved out a niche in the fast-growing functional beverage market in India by introducing the country’s first prebiotic soda. Unlike traditional carbonated drinks, Misfits sodas are low in calories, contain zero added sugar, and support gut health with a unique prebiotic formulation.

The company plans to utilize the fresh capital to boost production capacity, strengthen distribution channels, and expand its retail presence across India. Misfits will also focus on launching new flavors while maintaining its commitment to clean-label ingredients, plant-based sweeteners, and zero preservatives.

Aditya Pai, Co-founder of Misfits, said, “We are delighted to receive support from investors who believe in our vision of reshaping India’s beverage industry. Our mission is to offer consumers a guilt-free alternative to sugar-heavy sodas while promoting gut health through innovative prebiotic drinks.”

Yash Pai, Co-founder of Misfits, added, “This investment will help us scale faster, diversify our flavor portfolio, and build a brand that resonates with India’s health-conscious consumers.”

Investors also expressed strong confidence in Misfits’ positioning.

Venk Krishnan, Founder of Nu Ventures, highlighted, “Misfits has the potential to disrupt India’s beverage market by addressing consumer demand for functional, health-focused sodas.”

Subba Rao Telidevara, angel investor, remarked, “The founders have identified a clear market gap and developed a product that balances authentic health benefits with the taste consumers expect.”

Since its launch, Misfits has gained popularity among urban consumers seeking healthier beverage alternatives. The brand’s transparent clean-label approach, backed by third-party lab reports, has built credibility and trust in India’s evolving functional beverage space.

With the growing demand for gut-friendly drinks and low-calorie sodas in India, Misfits aims to position itself as a leading player in the health-conscious beverage segment.
