MangoPoint Raises $1 Million in Pre-Series A Funding to Revolutionize Chemical-Free Mango Exports from India

MangoPoint, a premium exporter of chemical-free mangoes and mango-based products, has secured $1 million in a Pre-Series A round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), one of India’s leading angel investment platforms. The round also saw participation from The Chennai Angels, Native Angel Network, Keiretsu Forum India, Fondation Botnar, IIM-CAN, Metis Family Office, and JITO Incubation and Innovation Foundation (JIIF).

The funds will be used to expand MangoPoint’s infrastructure, enter new markets, strengthen its backend supply chain, and diversify its product portfolio of high-quality mangoes and mango-based goods.

Pioneering the Chemical-Free Mango Export Market

Founded in 2018 by Manjula Gandhi Rooban and Prasanna Venkatarathnam, MangoPoint has quickly emerged as a trusted brand in the international market for chemical-free mangoes, especially across North America and Europe.

Their mangoes are single-origin, naturally ripened, and completely free of harmful chemicals and calcium carbide, which has helped them stand out in a highly competitive space. The company also exports processed mango products, ensuring year-round demand.

Founders with Strong International Roots

  • Manjula Gandhi Rooban, an alumnus of Anna University, has over 15 years of experience in IT with leading firms like Mindtree and ABB across the US and India.

  • Prasanna Venkatarathnam, a graduate of Coles College of Business, brings 15+ years of consulting and project management experience with Accenture, Cognizant, and Walmart’s IT infrastructure, which inspired MangoPoint’s core operations model.

What the Investors Say

Mitesh Shah, Co-Founder of Inflection Point Ventures, commented:

“Despite India being the largest producer of mangoes globally, we face significant challenges in global exports due to inadequate post-harvest handling and infrastructure. MangoPoint is solving these issues with an end-to-end approach—streamlining supply chains, establishing international-grade quality control, and building robust infrastructure. It’s poised to take Indian mango exports to the next level.”

Scalable, Sustainable, and Safe

With India producing 24 million MT of mangoes annually (over 50% of the global total), MangoPoint aims to scale from 2,000 MT to 20,000 MT per year in the near future. The company emphasizes sustainability, food safety, and quality compliance—making it a leader in the shift toward chemical-free fruit exports.

MangoPoint has also become the first packhouse in Tamil Nadu to be certified by both APEDA and NPPO, and its facility has passed FDA inspections, enabling exports to the US, Europe, China, and other global markets.

Future Growth and Product Innovation

Manjula Gandhi Rooban, Founder & MD of MangoPoint, said:

“This investment round marks a major milestone in our journey. With the support of IPV and other strategic investors, we’re expanding our reach and innovating beyond fresh mangoes—towards processed mango products, mango-based ingredients, and a stronger global presence.”

A Booming Industry

The global mango industry is valued at USD 60 billion, with India accounting for over USD 20 billion. The industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.9% to 8%, creating massive opportunities for premium mango exporters like MangoPoint.
