Bengaluru: Due to a fabricated allegation filed by an eight-year-old child, irate occupants of an apartment building in Bengaluru attacked a meal delivery person. According to a Times of India article, the incident started on the morning of June 12 when the girl’s parents returned to their seventh-floor flat in Electronics City and discovered that she was missing.
More information regarding the event is provided in a popular thread created by the Twitter account Shweta. Shweta said that when the girl’s parents were unable to locate her, they went into a panic and started looking for her. As neighbors joined in on the hunt, they quickly found the eight-year-old child on the building’s terrace.
“An 8-year-old girl was living alone at home. Her parents had left to send off her brother at school. The youngster was nowhere to be seen when they returned. When her parents pressed the emergency button, everyone began looking for her. She was crying when they discovered her on the rooftop, according to Shweta on Twitter.
A meal delivery person rang the doorbell and pulled the girl to the terrace, the youngster told her parents. She said that throughout her fight, she was able to extricate herself by biting his hand.
When all the delivery people in the apartment complex were lined up, the girl’s dad and other neighbors asked her whether she could recognize the suspect. No delivery agents were to be allowed to enter or exit the property, according to the security officers.
The girl recognized the guy she said had pulled her out onto the patio. He was then beaten up and put in a room by the enraged couple, their neighbors, and security personnel, who thought he had tried to molest the child.
However, it wasn’t until the authorities examined CCTV evidence from a nearby paid guest facility that the incident’s true nature became clear. Contrary to the girl’s assertions that she was forcibly pulled there, the CCTV evidence showed that she had arrived there the terrace on her own.
It was discovered that the child had fabricated the tale about the delivery agent while playing on the terrace because she was afraid her parents would spank her for not doing her homework.
She admitted when questioned that she made up the tale when she noticed the ruckus she had created. She is just 8 years old. She made up the tale of being taken hostage by a delivery man. She made up the story that he dragged her out onto the terrace.
The food delivery man who had been charged by the girl expressed his gratitude to Bengaluru police for being able to obtain video proof demonstrating his innocence. “The security officers
and everyone who was with the couple beat me up. I’m not sure why she lied, the 30-year-old food delivery worker told Times of India.
When the girl’s parents saw the CCTV tape, they were in disbelief. The delivery person afterwards accepted their apology and said, “My kid is about five years old and I can understand your anguish. No offense intended to any of you, but I found it sad when people attacked me despite claims that I was innocent and the girl was lying.
As he would soon be relocating back to Assam with his family, the unidentified delivery agent declined to lodge a counter-complaint against the couple.
