Godrej Agrovet Acquires Full Stake in Creamline Dairy Products for Rs 930 Crore to Strengthen Dairy Business

In a major step to bolster its dairy business, Godrej Agrovet Ltd. has announced the acquisition of the remaining 48.06% stake in Creamline Dairy Products Limited for Rs 930 crore, making Creamline a fully-owned subsidiary. The move is expected to significantly strengthen Godrej Agrovet’s presence in the competitive dairy sector.

Creamline Dairy Products, headquartered in Hyderabad, is widely recognized for its popular ‘Godrej Jersey’ brand, which enjoys a strong foothold across South Indian markets. The company recorded a turnover of Rs 1,540 crore for the financial year 2023-24, underscoring its solid position in the regional dairy industry.

Godrej Agrovet’s relationship with Creamline Dairy began in 2005, when it picked up an initial 26% stake, later increasing its holding to 51% in 2015. With the latest buyout, Godrej Agrovet now fully controls the company. The acquisition is part of a larger strategy to scale up its dairy business and expand its offerings in the high-growth value-added dairy products segment.

Speaking on the development, Balram Singh Yadav, Managing Director of Godrej Agrovet Ltd., said, “This acquisition is a strategic move to consolidate our position in the dairy industry. Creamline Dairy’s strong distribution network and brand equity will help us expand our value-added dairy segment.”

With complete ownership of Creamline Dairy, Godrej Agrovet plans to focus on product innovation, diversification, and supply chain improvements. The company aims to accelerate growth in high-margin categories such as flavoured milk, yogurt, dairy beverages, and other premium dairy products to enhance overall profitability.

This acquisition marks a key milestone for Godrej Agrovet as it sharpens its focus on the rapidly growing dairy market in India, particularly in South India where Creamline Dairy has a loyal customer base and well-established distribution channels.
