FSSAI Directs Patanjali to Recall Red Chilli Powder Batch Over Safety Concerns
FSSAI has directed Patanjali Foods Limited to recall a specific batch of red chilli powder over regulatory non-compliance with food safety standards.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has ordered Patanjali Foods Limited to recall a specific batch of its red chilli powder. The directive, issued on January 13, 2025, and received by the company on January 16, cites non-compliance with The Food Safety and Standards (Contaminants, Toxins and Residues) Regulations, 2011.
The affected batch is labeled as “Red Chilli Powder (Packed)” with Batch No. AJD2400012. Patanjali disclosed the matter in an exchange filing on Thursday, stating that it is initiating a recall as per FSSAI's instructions.
