Campa Cola to Invest ₹1,000 Crore in First Bihar Manufacturing Plant at Begusarai
Campa Cola is investing ₹1,000 crore to establish its first manufacturing unit in Bihar's Begusarai district. The project, approved by BIADA, is expected to boost local employment and attract allied industries.

In a major push to Bihar’s industrial development, iconic soft drink brand Campa Cola is set to invest ₹1,000 crore to establish its first-ever manufacturing unit in the state, officials confirmed. The plant will be located in Begusarai and spread over 35 acres, making it one of the largest single-company investments in Bihar in recent times.
The proposal received clearance from the Project Clearance Committee of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) earlier this week. This development is being seen as a major milestone in Bihar’s industrial growth story, particularly for Begusarai, which already houses another beverage manufacturing facility.
According to the State Industry Department, the Campa Cola unit will not only generate direct and indirect employment opportunities but also boost ancillary industries in and around Begusarai. The presence of such a large-scale manufacturing operation is likely to improve supply chain logistics and increase demand for local services and raw materials.
In the same meeting, BIADA also approved land for a ₹20 crore cattle feed manufacturing unit in Muzaffarpur, signaling ongoing efforts to promote investment in diverse sectors across the state. While other projects were also cleared during the session, most involved smaller-scale investments.
This wave of approvals comes amid rising interest from large corporations in Bihar’s improving business climate. In 2023, the Adani Group announced plans to set up a cement plant in Varsaliganj, Nawada, on the premises of a defunct sugar mill. Several proposals from IT firms are also under review, indicating a shift towards a more diversified and modern industrial base in Bihar.
Officials believe that the Campa Cola project sends a strong signal to investors about Bihar’s readiness for large-scale industrial operations. With increasing investments and proactive government support, Bihar’s image as a business-friendly state appears to be steadily strengthening.
