Guwahati, Assam: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated Reliance Consumer Products Ltd's (RCPL) new Campa and beverages bottling plant in Guwahati on Saturday. The state-of-the-art facility will produce RCPL's popular beverage range, including Campa Cola, Campa Orange, Campa Lemon, Power Up energy drink, and packaged drinking water under the Independence and Sure Water brands.

A Major Boost to Northeast India’s Beverage Industry

The new bottling plant, developed in partnership with Jericho Foods and Beverages LLP, spans over 6 lakh sq. ft., making it one of the largest beverage manufacturing units in the region. Equipped with two world-class bottling lines—a 600 BPM (bottles per minute) line for carbonated soft drinks and a 583 BPM line for water—the plant is designed for efficiency and high-quality production.

The facility has an initial production capacity of over 10 crore litres for carbonated soft drinks and nearly 18 crore litres for packaged drinking water. It will primarily serve Assam, Northeast India, and North Bengal but has the capability to supply other markets based on demand.

Affordable Quality for Consumers

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the affordability and quality of Campa’s products. “Common people can purchase Campa's products at very affordable prices without compromising on quality, which meets global standards. I believe this brand will grow stronger and create numerous job opportunities in Assam,” he said.

Strategic Expansion and Economic Growth

Ketan Mody, COO of Reliance Consumer Products Limited, emphasized the strategic importance of the Guwahati plant. “Today marks a significant milestone as we inaugurate this facility in partnership with Jericho. This plant will generate new employment opportunities, directly contributing to the local economy. It aligns with our vision to revive India’s heritage brands and promote sustainable development,” he stated.

Ashis Agarwal, Founder of Jericho Foods and Beverages LLP, expressed pride in the partnership. “The launch of this world-class Campa bottling plant is a proud moment for us. As a first-generation business from Assam, we are committed to making the state a leading hub for food and beverage manufacturing,” he said.

Commitment to Quality and Local Development

Reliance Consumer Products Ltd reiterated its focus on delivering high-quality beverages while strengthening its presence in the Northeast. “The Guwahati plant is a testament to our commitment to leveraging local production capabilities to offer world-class products,” the company noted in a release.
