Amul provides clarification after the viral circulation of a video alleging the presence of fungus in their Lassi
Check the truth behind the circulating video claiming fungus in Amul Lassi packs. Amul sets the record straight, assuring consumers of their stringent quality checks and debunking the misinformation.
Amul, a major milk producer, has categorically denied the authenticity of a video circulating on social media that claims to show fungus in some packs of Amul Lassi before the expiry date. The company has dismissed the video as "fake" and accused it of spreading misinformation and unnecessary fear among consumers.
In a tweet addressing the issue, Amul pointed out several observations about the video. They noted that the packs in question appeared to be damaged around the straw hole area, with visible leakage of liquid. According to Amul, the fungus development in these packs is likely a result of this damage, which the video creator may be aware of.
Amul also clarified that the creator of the video did not contact them for clarification, nor did they disclose the location where the allegedly affected packs were found. The Gujarat-headquartered company emphasized that their Amul Lassi is manufactured in state-of-the-art dairies and undergoes rigorous quality checks to ensure product quality and packaging integrity.
As a standard practice, Amul includes a declaration on all their packs advising customers not to purchase puffed or leaky packs. They reassured consumers that their product is safe and urged them not to be swayed by the misleading video.
