Zomato Food Delivery CEO Rakesh Ranjan Steps Down, Deepinder Goyal to Take Over Operations
Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal will now lead the food delivery operations as part of the company’s regular leadership shuffle. Rakesh Ranjan, who held the role since June 2023, steps down but will remain with the company.

Zomato has announced a major leadership change in its food delivery business. Rakesh Ranjan, who has been the CEO of Zomato’s food delivery arm since June 2023, is stepping down from the role. However, he is not leaving the company and will continue to be part of Zomato in another capacity.
Deepinder Goyal, founder and group CEO of Zomato, will now take charge of the food delivery operations for the next few months. This move is part of a regular leadership reshuffle that Zomato carries out every two years. The company often rotates senior executives across different business verticals to bring fresh perspectives and drive innovation.
Ranjan has been with the Gurugram-based company for nearly eight years. Under his leadership, Zomato not only maintained its position as a market leader in food delivery but also strengthened its lead in the competitive sector.
This leadership change comes shortly after the departure of Rinshul Chandra, the former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Zomato’s food delivery unit.
Zomato’s strategy of rotating leadership roles reflects its dynamic approach to growth and innovation in India’s fast-changing food tech space.
