The Centre has taken action to provide customers relief by selling reduced tomatoes at various areas around the nation in response to the increasing tomato costs. The responsibility of selling tomatoes through vans has been given to the national cooperative consumers’ federation (NCCF) and the national agricultural cooperative marketing federation (NAFED). The reduced tomato pricing went into effect on Friday.
On Saturday, July 15, these Delhi venues will offer discounted tomatoes. Locations in Noida are being decided. “Sale to start at Lucknow and Kanpur on (July 15) with 15 mobile vans each, starting at 11 am,” tweeted Rohit Kumar Singh, secretary of the department of consumer affairs.

Lucknow: Bhootnath Market, Dandaiya Market, Front of Naveen Mandi Sthal Sitapur Road, Jawahar Bhawan, Terhipuliya, Gole Market, Chowk, Vibhuti Kand Gomti Nagar, Kaiser Bagh, Rajajipurram, and Munsi Pulia.

The nation’s tomato costs right now have risen to worrisome heights. The department of consumer affairs reports that the average tomato price across the country is 117 per kg. The rates that have been quoted in various cities are as follows: Delhi charges Rs. 178/kg, Mumbai Rs. 150/kg, Chennai Rs. 132/kg, and Ranchi Rs. 100/kg.
