PVR Inox Reduces Food and Beverage Prices by Up to 40%, After Backlash

PVR Inox, a leading multiplex chain in New Delhi, has responded to social media backlash by reducing its food and beverage prices by up to 40 percent. The company introduced affordable food combos, starting from Rs 99, available from Monday to Thursday between 9 am and 6 pm. Additionally, on weekends, they are offering bottomless popcorn with unlimited refills and bottomless Pepsi.

In a statement, PVR Inox stated that cinephiles planning to watch films on the weekend can now enjoy bottomless popcorn with unlimited tub refills, along with attractively priced Family Meal Combos, resulting in a significant reduction in food and beverage expenditures by up to 40 percent.

However, it's important to note that the offer does not apply to group bookings or special shows and can only be purchased offline. Moreover, the combo is not available in luxury cinema formats like LUXE/Gold and TLC cinemas, such as Director's Cut.

Previously, PVR Inox faced criticism for its high prices, with a tub of cheese popcorn priced at Rs 450 and a 600-ml soft drink costing Rs 360.

The decision to reduce prices came in response to a social media user's complaint about the exorbitant food and beverage prices at PVR Inox. The user's tweet highlighted the high costs, comparing them to the price of an annual subscription to a streaming platform.

With this price cut, PVR Inox aims to make movie-watching more affordable and enjoyable for families and moviegoers, addressing the concerns raised on social media.
