MBA Chai Wala faces allegations of fraud from franchise owners

MBA Chaiwala, founded by Prafull Billore, has become a prominent brand in the market with franchises spread across cities in India. Its humble beginnings started with a small tea stall on the side of the road in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

MBA Chai Wala, a tea-selling brand, has made a significant mark in the country with over 100 outlets in big and small cities, gaining immense popularity. However, its founder, Prafull Billore, is now facing controversy for the first time as allegations of fraud have surfaced against him and his team. Complaints have been lodged, stating that the company's franchise was promised falsely, and a large sum of money was collected, but the business did not succeed, and the outlets were subsequently shut down.

The proprietor and creator of MBA Chaiwala is Prafull Billore, who, despite dropping out of college without completing his MBA, established a tea stall business that transformed into a substantial brand through his tireless efforts. In addition to his role as a chaiwala, Billore is also an inspirational speaker and entertainer.

As per the news, on 4th April 2023, a report was filed against MBA chai wala (Prafull Billore) in Lasudia Police Station, Indore by Ashish Tiwari. As per him, he was charged 10 lakhs for getting the franchise of MBA chai wala. To this, he was assured by the company that he would get sales of Rs ten thousand a day. But as per him, his sales were also not more than 600 rupees a day.

Vijay Nagar, MIG, Palasia, Lasudia, Bhanwarkua, South Tukoganj, etc all these locations of Indore, and including everything,28 complaints are registered on Prafull Billore.

Tanmay Chokse, the Franchise owner of Bhanwarkua, invested 32 lakhs in this business. But it turned out down and is closed now.

Tanmay claims that he contacted Prafull Billore and others to open the outlet. Some people associated with Prafull Billore deposited Rs. 13 lakh in the company's account for franchising. After that, an investment of Rs. 27 Lakh was made by adding the interior design and other expenses to the outlet. Adding several other expenses, Tanmay spent Rs. 32 lakh.

Meanwhile, the company had assured of earning about lakhs of rupees every month, but according to Tanmay, there is a loss of Rs. 200,000 to 600,000 every month. Due to this, about 7 outlets have been closed by the concerned individuals. When the company's people were informed of this, they are not providing any information or help in running the outlet. They have given false promises. The owners of these outlets claim that they have been defrauded.

Vineet Rai, the Franchise owner from Lucknow, invested 20 lakhs but his outlet is closed down too.

He has also filed a complaint with the police in Indore. He had opened an outlet in Lucknow under the name of MBA Chaiwala franchise, which was continuously in the loss. He had given 20 lakh rupees to the company's people, out of which 7 lakh rupees were franchise fees. He had invested the rest of the money in kitchen equipment and raw materials. Vineet's allegation is that he was told that they would work together as partners. A big person from the company will sit for about 6 months and run the entire outlet well. But nothing like that happened and he was left with nothing.

Meanwhile, when information about the Indore outlet was also revealed, the same loss was found there as well. Those people also closed down MBA CHAI WALA franchise outlets and demanded money from the company as compensation. The deposit amount they had paid is also being demanded back. However, no information is being provided by the company. That is why we are seeking legal help.

As per one statement, 7 persons in Indore were given a franchise of MBA chai wala for around 30 lakhs Rupees.

As per the statements of the franchise owners, they were guaranteed high sales per day but they didn't get it. And for these franchises, MBA chai wala took lakhs of money from them in the name of Franchise fees, Equipment Costs, Raw material costs, etc. Today, these franchises are facing big losses.

Our team at Indian Food Times attempted to verify these allegations by contacting the MBA Chai Wala team. We were able to speak with Sneh Agrawal, who stated that he would provide a response but we have not received any communication from them since.
