A 60-year-old man working as a food delivery man was recently arrested by the police for allegedly sending vulgar messages to a woman through various online platforms, including WhatsApp. The accused, identified as Ram Chander Shukla and residing in Gokulpuri, came under scrutiny after the woman filed a complaint with the police, stating that she had been receiving inappropriate messages on her WhatsApp, Telegram, and email accounts.
Upon further investigation, the police discovered that the email address used by the accused was linked to a mobile number registered in the name of Ram Chander Shukla. Consequently, a notice was served to Shukla, who cooperated with the investigation, according to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Hemant Tiwari.
During questioning, Shukla confessed to his involvement in the incidents and revealed that he worked as a food delivery boy. He also admitted to previously working as an auto-rickshaw driver. Shukla explained his modus operandi, stating that he would store the phone numbers of female customers who used their mobile phones to book auto-rickshaw rides or place food orders. Subsequently, he would send vulgar and obscene messages to his victims.
Investigation into the case is ongoing, with the police focusing on identifying any other potential victims who may have been subjected to similar harassment by Shukla.
