Blast at Chandigarh Bar Owned by Rapper Badshah: Police Suspect Crude Bomb Attack

Chandigarh witnessed a low-intensity explosion early Tuesday morning at a bar owned by renowned rapper and singer Badshah. The incident took place at a private club located in the upscale Sector 26 area between 2:30 and 2:45 am.  

Preliminary reports indicate that two unidentified individuals riding a motorcycle hurled a low-intensity explosive device at the bar. Although no casualties were reported, the explosion caused significant damage to the establishment, shattering several window panes and alarming nearby residents.  

Police Begin Investigation

Following the incident, Chandigarh Police swiftly reached the spot and cordoned off the area. Teams from the bomb detection squad and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) were also dispatched to collect evidence and examine the nature of the explosive device.  

Sources suggest the device could have been a crude, homemade bomb, possibly used as a means of intimidation or extortion. "The explosion appears to be the result of a low-intensity crude bomb. However, further investigations are required to confirm the exact nature and motive," a police official stated.  

Motive and Suspects

While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, initial assessments point towards a targeted attempt. Investigators are exploring possible extortion angles as similar incidents have been linked to such motives in the past.
