Late on Sunday night, a group of five individuals, allegedly intoxicated, were traveling in a car to drop off a friend. Tragically, their journey took a devastating turn when their vehicle collided with a two-wheeler belonging to a delivery executive near the RR Nagar Metro station.
Rather than taking responsibility, the driver, under the influence of alcohol, attempted to flee the scene. However, alert locals immediately gave chase and managed to apprehend him. The driver was handed over to the police the following morning.
The delivery executive, identified as Pavan Kumar from HD Kote in the Mysuru district, lost his life in the incident. The driver, identified as Vinayak, resides in the Vijaynagar area of Bengaluru. Vinayak worked as a sales executive at an automobile showroom.
While the driver was captured, the three women and one male occupant accompanying him managed to escape the scene during the commotion caused by the locals' pursuit.
The police have registered a case at the Byatarayanapura traffic police station, charging the driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
