27 years of dedication pays off 3 crore for Burger King employee
Meet Kevin Ford, a Burger King employee who never missed a day of work in 27 years and is set to receive over Rs 3 crore on his retirement. His dedication earned him a reward through a GoFundMe campaign, and his story is an inspiration to all.
A Burger King employee in Las Vegas, named Kevin Ford, is set to receive over $400,000 (approximately Rs 3.26 crore) on his retirement after never missing a day of work in 27 years. The fundraising campaign was started last year by Ford's daughter to reward him for his hard work and dedication. The campaign went viral on social media after a video of Ford opening a gift bag, received as a reward for his perfect attendance, was shared online. Celebrities, including David Spade, also donated to the cause.
On a US television show called Today, Ford expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support he received. He explained that he used the funds to visit his grandchildren in Texas, an experience that he described as a dream come true. The video that went viral showed Ford receiving a few small gifts, including a movie ticket, snacks, Starbucks drink, two pens, two lighters, and a couple of keys, which he received from his colleagues.

In the same video, it was revealed that Ford had worked through the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, never missing a day of work. This dedication to his job earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues, who celebrated his 27 years of service in a meaningful way. The Instagram page, "Kevin Ford," that shared the video wrote a caption that read, "People say you can’t keep workers nowadays... but just look how grateful his employer was on his 27th year."
Ford's daughter, Seryna, explained that her father began working at Burger King as a single father when he gained custody of her and her older sister 27 years ago. He continued to work there because of the excellent health insurance provided by his employer, which was unionized. The health insurance allowed Ford to pay for his daughters' high school and college education while providing them with full healthcare coverage.
